It’s time to celebrate dad and thank him for all of his support, love, and dad jokes. And if you’re looking for something to do over Father’s Day weekend, you’re in luck - Nashville has activities for all types of dads. Whether your dad likes to become one with nature or enjoys fine dining, he can find it all here!
For the Outdoor Enthusiast
Nashville might be a bustling city but there are plenty of ways to disconnect and get away from it all (even if you stay in Nashville). Go on a walk or hike with dad in one of the nearby parks: head to Percy Warner for an immersive experience or take a loop around Radnor Lake for some wildlife spotting. If your dad is more of the at-home-on-the-water type, rent a canoe or kayak and head out on the waters of the Harpeth River. Can’t be around in person? Send dad a gift card to Cumberland Transit or REI.
For the Sports Lover
If you haven’t been to a game at the new Geodis Park for a Nashville Soccer Club game, Father’s Day is the perfect reason to go! Treat dad to some stadium eats and cheer on the men in gold and blue together. Of course, there are a lot of great places to watch a game around town. Check out local favorite M.L. Rose or Double Dogs to get your fill of sports and pub food.
Or get more hands-on and play a few games of bowling at Brooklyn Bowl, Pins Mechanical, or Kings Dining and Entertainment (Franklin).
For the Playful Dad
With a stack of quarters, you can have a fun day at a number of spots around town. Head over to East Nashville for No Quarter to find a great selection of pinball machines that come with a big dose of nostalgia. HQ Nashville downtown has a bit of everything: vintage pinball, arcade games, big screens, drink menus, and a food menu with American classics. For a mix of action and games, try out axe throwing at BATL Axe or Blade & Timber.
And if you’re not afraid of heights, take dad over to SOAR Adventure Tower to complete a ropes course. Stick around and even play a round of mini-golf!
For the Foodie
If your dad appreciates a good meal, treat him to a Father’s Day brunch at one of Nashville’s top-rated restaurants. Adele’s is serving a full buffet with a delicious variety of options, such as raspberry chipotle pork loin, fried green tomatoes, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and smoked gouda grits. More of a bbq fan? Head over to 404 Kitchen for their special Father’s Day Barbeque Brunch to get a taste of brisket, pulled pork, or chicken. Plus, all of your favorite bbq sides!
For the Spirited Dad
Is your dad someone who appreciates a cold beer or a smooth whiskey? Then treat him to a tour at a local brewery or whiskey tasting at a local distillery. Visit Jackalope Brewery to taste their famous Bear Walker or Thunder Ann while you enjoy a peek into their operations. Or see even more spots by buying a pass on the Music City Brew Hop tour. Take their vintage trolley from brewery to brewery! If you’re more of a spirit fan, check out Corsair Distillery or the popular Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery to try their award-winning whiskeys.
No matter what you plan to do, we hope you and all the dads out there have a wonderful Father’s Day!
